Jason Davis is a science writer for The Planetary Society, a co-founder of Rocket Gut, and a contributor to NBC News. He also has taught journalism at UA. Davis began his science journalism career by starting a blog he called “Astro-saurus,” where for several years he wrote about space and other topics that interested him. He originally went to college to become an aerospace engineer. After college he worked as an IT specialist but continued to blog on the side because he remained passionate about space. He eventually returned to UA to get a master’s degree in journalism in 2014. His final project was a documentary film titled “Desert Moon,” which explored how UA helped land a man on the moon. Davis offers insights into how journalism is evolving and how he uses Twitter to enhance his reporting, writing, and sourcing. The Planetary Society (whose CEO is Bill Nye) was his first paid job as a journalist in 2011
